Malvern Roast

Malvern Roast is a student-founded coffee venture created by Ryan McLaughlin '23 and Brendan Kyle '23 in partnership with House Cup Coffee Roasters in Havertown, PA. It grew from the students' interest in specialty coffee and a desire to better understand the craft — one of several student projects that helped lay the foundation for what we know today as the Malvern Prep Student Idea Center.

The Student Idea Center embodies the core principle that student curiosity deserves investment.

Beyond mere encouragement, Malvern Prep commits time, mentorship, institutional support, and trust to help students pursue ideas with purpose.

Malvern Roast began with two students seeking to explore the world of coffee and a school willing to take that pursuit seriously.
